For quite some time now that I have spoken of a new project that I was fortunate enough to join in with my fellow artists

In our joint venture for :iconhippocreneartifex:

Now, for those who have followed me so far for my dedication for the owl world of Ga'Hoole, and will surely now frown once they read the content of this short introduction, I would ask them not to be hasty in their judgement of this work for it, too, took an effort not less than what I placed in any previous works... except that this one would surely come to be better since several talented minds came together to bring this work to light and so, if you are brave enough, go find our first chapter.

Enjoy your time.

Wow, very nice! Quite a mysterious tone you've built up there, and I like the whole Plato's cave thing you have going with the "would we want to know the truth?" Looking forward to reading the rest of it.

Plato's cave is, as you could probably guess, something Plato came up with about 2300 years ago. In his Republic (i.e. one of the greatest books written by man), he talks about the "cave" we are all born in. It's a very deep allegory, and it would take pages to explain, so I'll just link you some of the explanations: [link] [link]

Obviously you'll best understand it if you read the book, but there's no always enough time for that =D

A detail in Plato's cave is that sometimes, when someone is freed and sees the light, they're so stunned and confused that they simply reject the truth and go back to their own comfortable lives. This seems to be what you're getting at in the intro. Nietzsche also pointed out that "truth does not have to be beautiful". I think this is one of the things he got right, though he got a whole lot else wrong.

I'll be sure to read the rest of the chapters and stick to the truth, no matter how terrifying it is!

oh I see now. this is really good stuff. thank you for the lesson ^^

I promise you you'll enjoy it. My oc is Arbellason and his magic is Harry Potter style but the other oc's have things that are subtle and more charming than outright magic and you'll even like them more than Arbellason :D
